i liked this cover until i dropped it and am now having to pay $200 for a replacement kindle.

I have just purchased a Kindle and I can’t get my hands on a cover for it because Amazon hasn’t made them available to Australian Residents. Not the most intelligent move there guys, should probably get that fixed.

I purchased one of these for my kindle several months ago and I love it. Now I’m getting another one for a friend as a Christmas gift. I was a little concerned when I read reviews that said it can cause the Kindle to crack – that has not happened with mine, but I’m very careful to use the elastic holders on the edges, in addition to the hinges.
I did check with M-Edge to get their comments on the cracking / hinge issue before I ordered my second one. This was their response:
“Thank you for your continued interest in our products! When used properly, our jackets will not cause any damage to your Kindle. The few times we have had customers claim that their device just cracked, when we received the jacket back the hinge tabs were bent and twisted completely out of shape. The only way that this can happen is if the Kindle is pulled firmly away from the back cover while the hinge tabs are inserted in the device. If you always use the two stretchy corner straps on the right-hand corners you should never have this problem.”
Based on this, I went ahead and ordered my second cover, and will be sure to tell the recipient to use the stretchy corner straps.

This is my 2nd M-edge cover–I had a Kindle 1 with another M-edge cover, and I am happy with the protection, quality, and price. When I am at home, I prefer to remove my Kindle from the case to read, but when I am out I leave the case on and I don’t find it to be cumbersome and it offers privacy from those who like to read over your shoulder. The weight to me is negligible.

Good quality. Fits the kindle very well. Makes the Kindle easy to use and for those of us who enjoy the feel of a book in our hand this jacket fills the bill. Really dresses up my Kindle.
