I already have knowledge of HTML and found this book touched all the basics and a lot more. If you are into formating your own books for epublishing, and you have little or no previous knowledge of HTML, then this is a very good book to get. It looks at how to convert basic text from word, or pdf or just about anything, into HTML which can be viewed with a web browser, but with a particular emphasis on Kindle formatting. There are also references to MobiPocket, which is a good alternative to Kindle, and you can down load the software for free, allowing you to see the progress of your ebook. There are also tips on setting out the text for poetry and things like that. There is a lot of good stuff in this book, well worth getting hold of. I know, I did. This chapter explains that if you want to 1) do a final check of your Kindle manuscript on your own Kindle before you publish and 2) submit it with DRM, you must use the Mobipocket Creator to create a Mobipocket ebook to submit to the Amazon DTP rather than simply submitting an html file to the Amazon DTP.
